Steam-Up 10-21-01

Home Up

10-21-2001  Once again we were blessed with a great day for steaming.  The Lord must love Live Steamers!  It started out cloudy and a little windy but as the day progressed the sun came out and the wind died down.

Bill's Porter was running good except for occasional R/C problems.

After a little investigation work by Tom T and Bill it was discovered that the Receiver was resting against the fuel tank and was ice cold.  Moving the receiver out a little and isolating it from the tank made all the difference.

Tom's Katie was sporting some new figures and new hand made rolling stock.  Nice setup!

This Roundhouse Katie runs nice and smooth.  Seems like all Roundhouse engines run this nice.

As you can see, my depot is sporting a new solar panel.  Taken from an outdoor light fixture it now supplies lighting every night inside the depot.

We started steaming about 1:30pm with the last engine coming to a stop around 7pm.  We had to steam after dark in order to try out the new head LED headlights.

Fred's Colorado is always a favorite.  Pulling a nice string of cars with great run times.

Couldn't have asked for a better day.  All of the Live Steam members of our train club, The Lakeshore Garden Railway Club, showed up for the event.  The Live Steamers of the club were once described at a club meeting as having moved over to the Dark Side.  (A Star Wars reference)  Since the name has stuck with us, I came up with a few graphics to promote the Live Steam side of G Scale model Railroading.
