Well, after a non-stop, 19.5 hour drive, we are here! But where is
everyone and the track?

Well, they know we are coming. |

Track, track, we need track! |

Nothing to display yet. |
Hopefully we can get started on the track soon. Check back daily.
We could not stand to be at Diamondhead without running engines, so we
broke out the tread mills and fired up some engines. Jerry could
probably smell the steam oil from his house and he stopped in to see what was
happening and make sure things were ready for the track setup in the morning.

(Left to Right) Fred Gandolfi, Bob Weltyk and Jerry Reshew. |

Fred prepares his newly built Grasshopper.
|

Dave Martin cleans a clogged jet on his American. |

Bob Weltyk fires up his finely detailed Roundhouse Darjeeling. |
The track gets setup in the morning and then the steaming begins.
Check back tomorrow.
11:40 EST - Oops, not done quite yet. As always, we start gathering
around, chatting, laughing and just enjoying. Even when the track isn't
up yet.

You always meet great people at Diamondhead. Allen, from London, is
the gentlemen on the right. Raif, in the back on the left, is from
Somerset. |

Bob Weltyk brought out his Darjeeling coaches so I snapped a couple of
shots for those Darjeeling fans. |
